The website poem.sometime.day of Yu (Serendip) has no accounts, no ads, and no third-party analytics or tracking. Below is everything we know about you. The Android app has its own policy.
What we collect
An anonymous identifier. Randomly generated in your browser on first use and stored only there; it contains nothing about who you are and cannot be traced back to you. The poems you have encountered are recorded under this identifier so you can revisit them.
Your timezone name. Such as America/New_York — used to present content according to your local time.
A rough location. Inferred from the request IP. It is recorded with each encounter as one of seven classical regions (such as Jiangnan or Lingnan), together with the hour, season and weather of that moment — the footnote to why that poem arrived just then. The city-level guess is used for that request's weather.
Server access logs. Each request records the IP and the location inferred from it (country, province, city, network provider), the referrer and origin, browser and OS version, the anonymous identifier, time and duration — used solely for troubleshooting, abuse prevention and statistics, and kept for no more than 90 days. Daily database backups are kept for 30 days.
That is all. No email, no name, no contacts.
What we don't do
We do not sell, share, profile, or track you across sites or apps, and we show no advertising.
Deletion
Clearing your browser data discards the anonymous identifier, and with it your link to whatever is recorded on our server. What remains there is a random string that can be matched to no one, and the poems it met. We do not offer deletion by identifier: that key exists only on your side, and once it is gone the records belong to nobody.
